Our
new social networking website, beyond
seneca falls invites viewers of our documentary
film Seneca Falls to come together to dig
deeper, connect with ourselves and others, and tap into our
power to create a more gender-balanced world. It's a rich
resource for teachers, students and community organizations,
and a forum that can help us address remaining gender inequities
by sharing our ideas and inspiration with people across the
globe.
We like to think of the beyond
site as an oasis of encouragement and ideas for teenagers,
women and men who are inspired by the film's revelations about
the history of the women's rights movement and the individual
citizen's ability to join with others to create social change.
Simply put, we've designed beyond
to be a place to envision and create a world beyond barriers
of gender. We're especially interested in hearing from community
groups, educators and students about ways to use the film
to foster self-esteem, courage and citizen action.
We're also seeking college or high school classes, or after
school groups, that would like to serve as web producers/administrators
on a revolving basis. And, as always, we'll need ongoing financial
support to keep exploring these goals on beyond. Please
contact us if you would like to join the effort.
So come along with us and explore a world beyond
seneca falls and add your voice to the conversation.
Our deepest gratitude to The Fledgling Fund for their generous
grant support that made beyond
possible. The Fledgling Fund seeks to improve the lives of
vulnerable individuals, families, and communities by supporting
innovative media projects that target entrenched social problems.
They are an amazing force for good, and the projects they
support are varied and vital.
